Let's Explore Emotions...

Understanding Emotions

What do we mean when we talk about emotions? Emotions are the feelings that colour our experiences, from joy and excitement to sadness and anger.

They are an integral part of being human and offer a unique lens through which we view the world.

Expressing Emotions Through Facial Features

Facial expressions are a universal language, capable of conveying a wide range of emotions without a single word. From a smile that lights up a room to the furrowed brow of concentration, our faces tell the story of our feelings. How do we use these features to express emotions, and what can they reveal about our inner world?

The Influence of Colours on Our Feelings

Colours have a profound impact on our emotions, often evoking specific feelings and moods. For instance, the warmth of red can evoke passion or anger, while the tranquillity of blue might bring a sense of calm.

Have you ever noticed how different colours affect your mood and creativity?

Creating an Emotional Portrait

In this class, we will delve into these concepts by creating emotional portraits.

The goal is not to make them look realistic, but rather to focus on expressing a powerful emotion through art.

Much like the Expressionists, who were masters at capturing raw emotion, we'll explore how to convey feelings vividly and intensely through our portraits.

Join me on this journey of self-expression and creativity, where we will let our emotions guide our artistic adventure.
